BHIM Concert: Stonebwoy Delivers Extraordinary Show
THE days leading to Dancehall/Reggae artiste, Stonebwoy’s BHIM Concert were controversy filled ones; his rival, Shatta Wale, announced his Thanksgiving concert on the same day and that led to accusations that the My Level singer was trying to sabotage his label mate.
Then the campaign, #FilltheDome, aimed at getting as many bodies into the Fantasy Dome of the Trade Fair Centre in La, Accra, began. Then there were the lengthy arguments on social media about which artistes were going for whose show and which one of them, Stonebwoy or Shatta Wale would win the ‘battle’.
However, all that talk was forgotten as Stonebwoy delivered a show that has got the industry buzzing with some calling it the best performance he has given so far in his career.
Having performed at four shows within a week, one would have expected to see a drop in his energy levels but that was far from it as he was on fire throughout his stay on stage at the BHIM Concert.
His stagecraft and connection with the audience felt like he had been saving his energy for just that day. For hours, the Stonegod had the audience in his palm; they screamed, jumped and jammed as he performed his hit songs including Hero, Pepper Dem, Tomorrow among others.
The night started off with a number of underground artistes who sustained the attention of the audience till the movers and shakers of the music industry took their turn on stage to give them some memorable performances.
The line up included acts like Sarkodie, Samini, award winning Jamaican music group, Morgan Heritage (with whom Stonebwoy has collaborated on some songs), VVIP and Trigmatic.
The others were Feli Nuna, Sista Afia, KiDi, Patapeezy, Tinny, Medikal, Joey B and Kwesi Arthur.
VVIP performed back to back hit songs like Ahomka Wom and Kuzo Muyi Wassa which got the audience singing along. Although the members of Morgan Heritage were on stage for a few minutes, they still did a good job.
The surprise act on the night was when renowned footballers, Emmanuel Adebayor and Asamoah Gyan, joined Stonebwoy on stage to entertain the fans.
The show ended with the BHIM Nation CEO singing his Higher hit while showing gratitude to his manager, Blakk Cedi for his support over the past years.
This year’s BHIM Concert was hosted by media personality, Kofi Okyere Darko popularly known as KOD.
