The Kintampo Police has arrested a 36 year old Fulani herdsman, Ado for beheading his neighbour at a drinking bar at Gulumpe, a village in the Kintampo North Municipality of the Brong-Ahafo Region.
A quarrel ensued between Ado and deceased, Chelawa Masse, aged 26, also a Fulani man at the drinking bar and in the process Ado pulled out a dagger from his dress and slashed the neck of the latter who fell and died instantly.
Chief inspector Augustine Kingsley Oppong, the Regional Public Relations officer (PRO), confirmed the incident to the Ghana News Agency saying at about 0600 hours on Tuesday, September 25, Mpemivi Navigbija, aged 30, the drinking bar operator, reported the matter to the Police.
Chief inspector Oppong said Police proceeded to the scene and found the body of Masse on the ground in a pool of blood, adding that it has been deposited at the Kintampo Hospital mortuary for autopsy.
He said suspect Ado has been arrested and detained at the Kadelso Police Station, near Kintampo to assist in investigation.
