Over 100 Cyber-Crime Suspects Arrested In Kasoa

One hundred and one (101) persons suspected to be engaged in cyber crime in Kasoa and other nearby communities in the Central Region have been arrested and detained by the police.

They were seized at different places – Akweley, Gomoa Nyanyano, Adade and Obom, in a special operation mounted by the Police Regional Command.

A pump action gun, together with eight “AA’ cartridges, 126 laptop computers, 40 mobile phones, two Huawei modems, nine passports, dried leaves believed to be cannabis and an undisclosed amount of cash were found on them.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) David Adjeim Agyeman, the Kasoa Divisional Commander, told journalists that they would be screened and the criminals among them prosecuted.

Twenty (20) suspected criminals had on Monday been taken into custody and 25 motorbikes impounded at Awutu Breku.

ACP Agyeman pledged to make things uncomfortable for those who had chosen to live outside the law.

They were not going to have their way and that they police would go after them to allow the law-abiding to have their peace.

He warned against the use of unregistered motorbikes and said offenders would be made to face the law.

He called for the people to give strong support to the police to rid the society of miscreants.

They should also have the courage to report any police officer, who acted wrongly to the Police Intelligence and Professional Standards (IPS) for disciplinary action.
