Seven people have been confirmed dead in an accident on the Bolgatanga-Bawku highway in the Upper East Region.
Eight others also sustained various degrees of injuries when the mini bus on which they were travelling drove into an articulated truck parked on the shoulders of the Yikurugu stretch of the road.
The accident occurred on Monday at about 3:30 am.
The deceased include the driver of the mini bus with registration number GR-9895-N.
The injured are receiving treatment at the Bawku Presbyterian Hospital and the Zebilla government hospital.
The accident victims, numbering 15 were on a Yutong bus from Kumasi and later joined the mini bus in Bolgatanga to their final destinations in Bawku and its environs.
