Young man electrocuted in Navrongo
An electrician in his early 30s has been electrocuted in Navrongo in the Upper East Region.
The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday while the deceased, an employee of Alaye Electricals, was fixing a power issue on a utility pole near Navrongo Secondary School.
According to eyewitnesses, he climbed the pole following a power outage in the area. Unfortunately, power was restored while he was still on the pole, leading to electrocution and his instant death.
“There was a problem with the high-tension poles, so he was called to fix it. The power was out when he arrived, but while working, the electricity was restored, leading to his tragic death,” a local reporter told Accra-based Citi News.
The body was later retrieved and transported to the War Memorial Hospital mortuary in Navrongo.
